Prosper's youth wrestling club

Our mission is to introduce young athletes to the sport of wrestling while building confidence, discipline, and resilience both on and off the mat.

Texas Jacks provides training opportunities for elementary, middle school, and high school athletes, creating a clear development pathway for wrestlers in our community.

The program is led by Head Coach Jake Jackson, a Texas Wrestling Hall of Honor member, former nationally ranked wrestler, and head coach of multiple UIL State Championship teams.

In our first season, Texas Jacks served over 50 families, and the program has quickly grown to over 80 families as we continue to expand.

Our goal is to build one of the premier youth wrestling programs in North Texas while developing young athletes into confident competitors and strong individuals.

Wrestling is a sport for everyone — and Texas Jacks is a place where every athlete has the opportunity to grow.

Texas Jacks Wrestling Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth wrestling program based in Prosper, Texas.

OUR COACHING STAFF

JAKE JACKSON

Coach Jackson began wrestling in first grade with the Carrollton Stars after receiving a wrestling flyer at school. He later attended Hebron High School, where he compiled an incredible 111-3 career record. He finished 2nd in the state as a freshman before winning back-to-back Texas state championships as a sophomore and junior. An injury prevented him from competing during his senior season.

Following high school, Coach Jackson continued his wrestling career at the University of Oklahoma from 2004–2008.

Throughout his high school coaching career, Coach Jackson has coached numerous state champions and state placers. His teams have won 2 UIL Team State Championships and 3 Dual State Championships, while competing in 6 State Dual Finals. He has twice been named Texas 5A Coach of the Year and is a member of the Texas Wrestling Hall of Honor.

Coach Jackson founded Texas Jacks Wrestling Club with a simple goal: to give every kid in Prosper the opportunity to experience the greatest sport in the world.

He currently serves as the Head Wrestling Coach at Richland High School.

BAYLOR STEWARD

Coach Steward began wrestling in second grade with the Frisco Bombers. He later attended Frisco Centennial High School, where he wrestled under Coach Jackson and became a 2-time State Qualifier, finishing 3rd in the state as a junior and 2nd as a senior.

Following high school, Coach Steward continued his wrestling career at the Division I level at Utah Valley University from 2018–2020.

Coach Steward began his coaching career as an assistant at Frisco Independence High School before spending two years as the Head Wrestling Coach at Rockwall High School. During his time at Rockwall, he coached multiple state placers, a state finalist, and a Fargo National Finalist, while leading his teams to two Top-10 finishes in Texas 6A.

He was also named District Coach of the Year and Region 2-6A Coach of the Year twice.

CHRISTIAN ELMORE

Coach Elmore had never wrestled before his freshman year of high school. Living with muscular dystrophy in both legs, he never could have imagined where the sport would eventually take him. But when Coach Kevin Wainscott pulled him out of weightlifting and encouraged him to give wrestling a shot, his life changed forever.

In just a few years, Coach Elmore went from JV wrestler to varsity starter, became a Freestyle State Placer, earned a spot on Team Texas, recorded 40 wins as a senior, and finished his high school career ranked in the Top 10 in Texas.

Following high school, Coach Elmore continued his wrestling career at Colorado Mesa University.

Coach Elmore's story represents what Texas Jacks is all about: wrestling can be for anyone. With opportunity, drive, and determination, there is no telling where this sport can take you.
